Types of classes we offer



Initial Orientation Class

During this session we go over terms and terminology, positioning, muscle activation, an individual postural analysis along with an orientation of our studio. This will give you a foundation to build on during subsequent lessons (either private or group). This introductory session is also an opportunity to discuss what you hope to achieve from the classes and any health issues and injuries. You need to book for your Orientation class at a time that suit both you and the instructor.

Individual Classes

In private sessions, you will work through a progressive, individually tailored Pilates programme incorporating a variety of apparatus to suit your individual requirements. This is ideal for mastering technique and addressing your specific goals.

Duet Class

Two people at a time through a progressive, individually tailored Pilates programme using various specialized Pilates appartatus.

Trio Class

Two people at a time through a progressive, individually tailored Pilates programme using various specialized Pilates appartatus.

Mat Group Classes

Mat classes provide a full body workout utilizing your own body weight and control for positioning and strength. Classes sometimes involve additional apparatus such as foam roller, therabands or circles to challenge you during the class.

Equipment Group Classes

Progressive program for a group of five people. Reformer, Cadillac and Arcs help assist you with your positioning and strength exercise during the class. Prerequisite is 12 individual classes before joining an equipment group class. This is the ideal way to add to an existing exercise program.


Pilates Express

Lunch time half hour classes - five days a week. An express class, focusing on specific areas, keeping you energized for the rest of the day.

Assessment Screening (New) 2010 - The Pilates Matrix!

Want to know your weak links and how to address it? In 2010 you can book for a screening at Body Intellect to indentify uncontrolled movement through the body with a series of specific tests. Adapted specifically for the Pilates environment, it reflects both contemporary scientific research and the Pilates tradition. With the result of these tests a Pilates teacher will be able to adapt their knowledge of Pilates principles and repertoire to retrain the faults that movement patterning identified. This will enable the teacher to deliver a program of Pilates which is specific to each individual.
